I applied for the course on a certain date. My friend wants to join. Can he/she come too?
Your friend must also apply at our online course registration form http://www.nuswindsurf.com first. We do not accept people who request their particular friend to join via email or any other form of communication. If there are no vacancies available for application then it means they cannot, unless they sign up as Waiting List (but note it is general and not for a specific date) – in the case where someone pulls out of a slot and people in the Waiting List are notified, the Course Coordinator decides whether to offer the replacement slot on a first-come-first-serve basis (and therefore that friend has to compete) or offer the slot to the friend in compassion.
Please note that one slot is offered for one person only.
[This may sound "Duh!" to most of you, but one scenario in the past clearly showed that someone in this world (let's name this anonymous person X) did not understand this.
-LONG STORY-
X submitted the forms and assumed their friend can join the course without the friend actually applying or being offered a slot for him/herself and the course coordinator was astonished to receive the forms of both X and their friend's, without even being informed beforehand. Under normal circumstances, the course coordinator would have decided not to entertain the application of the friend since all the slots were already filled by then, but fortunately for them, one of the other applicants for the same course had to void their application at the last minute just before the deadline, and because of the lack of time to properly find the replacement through the proper conventional means, decided to let X's friend take the slot as the replacement - but not before having their name filled as the last slot on the online registration form to make it official!]
