December Windsurf Camp 2011

Camp is OVER!

Thank you to

- the seniors/alumni who came down to help us out for the training for the Internal Race, and also more of them who came down to enjoy the BBQ with us! The launch of the Kongming Lantern was wonderful!

(FYI, the BBQ barrel used in previous camps was ditched because the bottom of the barrel had rusted really badly and the material (and the burnt charcoal from previous camps) collapsed while we were about to prepare the layout – so we got the wheelbarrow instead!)

- the project directors for the camp Yoga, Diaz and Jiehao! For the smooth delivery of the 3D2N programme! From the finances to the logistics to the rentals to the meals and BBQ arrangement to the t-shirts! and anything else I might have left out… Joining you guys + Lucas as a driver, halfway to help collect logistics from sponsors right after my last final exam was something worth remembering all thanks to the condition of the van we rented to do the transport (and the close calls as a result of the TERRIBLE incompetencies of the van)!

the marketing directors Diane and Amelia for your great efforts in finding the sponsors for the camp! The items in the goodie bag were really wonderful!

as well as

- the awesome committee members who were in the camp too! Geraldine, Jefri, Si Jia and not forgetting our chairperson Lucas! And special thanks to Diane, Joanne and Lionel who came down and helped out despite busy schedules. And additional thanks to the ones who have been zealously sacrificed their time off the camp at PA Water-Venture East Coast to travel to Changi Airport Staff Canteen @ Terminal 2 so that the meals can be collected for everyone’s consumption! Awesome time having wonderful colleagues in all of you and hopefully next year will be even more awesome with the events to come….

and not forgetting

all campers who have joined the camp – I hope it has been a fun camp for you too! And do come down for more of our recreational windsurf sessions and our future windsurf camps! (Next one will be the Windsurf Orientation Camp in ~ July 2012 for freshmen – seniors i.e. year 2s and above can join too!) and special thanks to our former Training Coordinator, Yew Ming for joining the camp and being one of the trainers for the rest of us!

If I left out anyone particular here, I apologise as it wasn’t intentional (perhaps you could contact me so that I could edit this post to include your name?) but you do know all of us have always appreciated your presence just as much too…

I do admit I haven’t done the best I should be as the designated photographer but I hope at least a few of you are satisfied that you have photographic evidence of being able to windsurf to show to others ;-) [It took me a year and a half of windsurfing (despite coming down relatively often) to finally have one!] and hopefully I haven’t been too annoying by trying to create news – it only works in NUS Windsurfing! I tried doing something similar somewhere else for “just for fun’s” sake but it only got myself to burning bridges which took a long time for the effects to cool down…

THANKS EVERYONE!

Regards,
